Growing Room is open weekdays between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m
Because each child’s needs are unique, our pricing is best explained in person. Please stop by for a tour and to pick up a packet so our director can answer all your questions about pricing. We have an open door policy, so there’s no need for an appointment. You will always see us at our best!
We are please to share that both of our Jacksonville schools received NECPA accreditation. This is one of the highest achievements in our field and confirms that we are delivering on our promise of quality early childhood education.
Our lead teachers are the veterans in years of experience and hold a variety of credentials through the Florida Department of Children and Families. Many also have an associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and even advanced degrees. Assistant teachers have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and work under the direction of a lead teacher. All employees working with children have taken a minimum of 45 hours of basic childcare classes and are certified in CPR/First Aid. As a center, we offer frequent training classes and continuing education opportunities for all of our teaching staff.
Growing Room publishes a monthly calendar with themes, which is available in the Parent Portal of our website. Our preschoolers’ days are filled with early learning and individualized curriculum geared toward improving their communication skills, arts and crafts, music and healthy outdoor play on our over sized playgrounds. We often bring educational programs from the community to supplement our regular curriculum, including visits by the Jacksonville Zoo. Check out our Facebook pages to see the types of activities we’ve enjoyed most recently (Growing Room San Pablo, Growing Room Bartram Park). Infants and toddlers also have curriculum and activities geared toward strengthening their minds and bodies. When you come for a tour, please ask for a typical schedule for a classroom in your child’s age group.
Growing Room uses a blended curriculum for all ages to assure we meet state standards for each age level, while taking advantage of benefits through our own proprietary approach. We use Baby Doll Circle Time for Infants through K2 and Early Literacy and Learning Model Plus (ELLM/Plus) for 3-, 4- and 5-year olds. Themes are introduced seasonally and weekly which teach the alphabet, colors, numbers and other skills. Visit our Classrooms web page to learn more about the education in your child’s particular age group.
Growing Room follows the federal food plate guidelines when planning the weekly menu. We offer a nutritious breakfast and lunch daily, plus two snacks, which are included in tuition. At parents’ requests, we now feature organic milk plus fresh fruits and vegetables. We are very conscientious of food allergies and do not allow any form of nuts in our centers. You can find our monthly menu included in our newsletter each month in the Parent Portal of the website.
All classrooms and playgrounds are equipped with video cameras. If there is ever any question about a child’s care, our director will meet with parents to review video footage. For security reasons, we do not provide online accessibility to live videos, but parents are welcome to drop in during center hours to see their child’s classroom on the large screen TV located in the Parent Corner.
We no longer offer a before and after school program. Our school focuses on serving the needs of children ages six weeks to five years.
Growing Room believes in providing a variety of extra-curriculum that enhances each child. This may include Spanish, relaxation and stretching through yoga and Physical Education. Our spacious playgrounds act as extensions to the classroom with tunnels, slides, bikes and other resources for development of the whole child. We also introduce the latest in technology to certain approved age groups. There is so much more that defies description. Visit our center and discover for yourself!
Occasionally we do for certain age groups. However, if immediate space is not available in a classroom, you can ask to be included on our “wait” list. We take your name and contact information and will keep you updated on a date for admission. Waiting time varies by the age group, but any of our management team members will be happy to answer your questions in detail.
